As COI relates more with people in development programs, several issues emerge that are connected to the existing community structure. These come in the form of gender insensitivity,  child  labour,  HIV/AIDS,  and  social  evils such as alcohol and drug abuse and gambling. In addressing these problems, COI recognizes the need to network with other NGOs to provide resources for hurting people and their families.
